Must read

Four Turkish soldiers were killed during clashes with terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants on the Turkish-Iraqi border on Friday, according to a statement from the Turkish Defense Ministry on Saturday.

The ministry said six soldiers were also wounded during the fight.

The ministry had initially announced that two soldiers had been killed but later said that two other soldiers had succumbed to their injuries at a hospital.

It did not specify the name of the militant organization, but the Turkish military frequently conducts operations against the PKK in the area.

The PKK, which has been waging a bloody war in Turkey’s Southeast since 1984, is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and the EU.
