A Turkish national was among 10 people killed during an attack on a copper and gold mining project in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province, officials said on Thursday, with another Turk taken hostage.
“At least 10 people were killed in the incident, including a Turkish national, six workers, and three guards,” said a local administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity. A police official confirmed the toll and that a Turkish national had been killed in the attack, which took place on Wednesday.
“The militants also abducted one Turkish national during the attack,” the local administration official said.
