Turkey’s coronavirus death toll reached 725 on Tuesday, while the number of confirmed cases increased by 3,892 to 34,109, according to a chart posted on Twitter by Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.
The chart indicates that 1,474 people are in intensive care, while 987 others have been intubated.
A total of 1,582 patients have been discharged from Turkish hospitals since the first case was confirmed on March 11.
Some eyebrows were raised since the daily coronavirus death toll over the last five days has been virtually flat, whereas the number of cases has almost doubled.
The health minister called on the public to abide by social isolation and distancing measures. The country has only imposed curfew on people over the age of 65 and under 20.
