Following the rounding up of Kurdish deputies as part of a major crackdown on opposition in Turkey and a terrorist attack in Diyarbakır the following morning, the Turkish lira lost value against both the euro and the US dollar and hit a historic low on Friday.
While the lira was around TL 3.11 against the dollar on Thursday, it went down to 3.1715 on Friday as the currency also depreciated to 3.5269 against the euro in a historic low.
