Turkey’s coronavirus death toll reached 3,584 on Wednesday, while the number of cases increased by 2,253 to 131,744, according to a chart posted on Twitter by Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.
The chart indicated that in the last 24 hours Turkey had received the results of 30,303 new tests.
A total of 4,917 people with the coronavirus infection recovered in that time period, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 78,202.
Intensive care treatment is being provided for 1,278 of the cases, 669 of whom are connected to ventilators.
Turkey announced its first coronavirus case on March 11.
Koca told reporters today that Turkey has entered a new phase in the coronavirus fight in which compliance with social measures would be strictly monitored.
