Maj. Gen. Abdullah Mesfer Al-Fasili of Saudi Arabia’s air defense forces visited Turkish defense contractor ASELSAN on Tuesday for talks on current projects and possible future cooperation, the company’s chief executive said.
Ahmet Akyol, the head of ASELSAN, said the Saudi delegation met with company officials at ASELSAN facilities and discussed ongoing work and potential new areas of cooperation.
ASELSAN is Turkey’s largest defense electronics company, producing military communications equipment, radar systems, electronic warfare tools and air defense technology used by Turkey’s security forces and exported abroad.
Turkey and Saudi Arabia have expanded defense industry ties in recent years, including deals linked to drones and local production.
The visit comes as Turkish and Pakistani officials have confirmed talks on a proposed defense framework involving Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
