Members of Turkish cabinet are tested for COVID-19 every 4 days: report

Must read

Turkish cabinet members are being tested for COVID-19 every four days, with results determined on an urgent basis, the T24 news website reported on Monday.

No cabinet member has so far shown symptoms of COVID-19, caused by the novel coronavirus.

The ministers continue their work as usual despite the increasing number of cases in the country.

The cabinet members’ health came into question after a parliamentary doctor showed symptoms and was briefly suspected of having contracted this virus. The doctor ultimately tested negative for COVID-19. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s office has been releasing videos of him teleconferencing with government executives.

In the videos Erdoğan seems to be accompanied by a small number of aides, most notably his spokesperson, İbrahim Kalın, and presidential communications director Fahrettin Altun.
