The Turkish Metal Industrialists Association said on Wednesday it had decided on a lockout after a labor union decided to go on strike following stalled negotiations for a collective bargaining agreement.

The members of the association constitute around a quarter of the Turkish manufacturing sector’s revenue and contribute $30 billion a year to the economy, according to the association, Reuters reported.

The date of the lockout has yet to be determined, the association said.

Turkish companies Arçelik, Aygaz, Ford Otosan, Karsan, Otokar, Tofaş and Türk Traktör have reported that the Turkish Metal Trade Union voted to strike at all their facilities.

No date has been set for the strike.
