1 military officer, 2 civilians killed in PKK attacks in southeastern Turkey

A special sergeant and two civilians were killed and four others were injured in separate attacks on Monday by Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorists in Diyarbakır and Bitlis provinces in southeastern Turkey.

The special sergeant and one of the civilians were killed when PKK terrorists opened fire on a civilian vehicle in Diyarbakır’s Hani district, while the other civilian was killed and four others were injured when PKK terrorists carried out an armed attack on villagers collecting wood in Bitlis’s Kayalıbağ village.

Turkish security forces launched operations in both locations to capture the terrorists.

The PKK, which has been waging a bloody war in Turkey’s Southeast since 1984, is listed as a terrorist organization not only by Turkey, but also by the US and the EU.
