Another Turkish soldier killed in ISIL attack in Syria

Must read

One Turkish soldier was killed and five others were injured in a rocket attack perpetrated by Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants in Syria’s al-Bab region, according to a statement from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) on Wednesday.

The TSK statement said the injured soldiers had been transported to Turkey, with hospitals in Gaziantep and Kilis declaring an emergency.

As part of Operation Euphrates Shield, Turkey sent tanks across the border to help Syrian rebels drive ISIL from the border city of Jarabulus in late August, in a dramatic escalation of its involvement in the Syrian civil war.

The number of Turkish soldiers killed during Operation Euphrates Shield has risen to 51 with the latest losses.
