A pregnant woman sustained serious injuries when terrorists from the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) attacked a checkpoint in Turkey’s southeastern Şırnak province on Friday.
The incident took place at the İkizce checkpoint near the village of Toztepe when PKK militants unleashed a barrage of gunfire on village guards. A pregnant woman living in Toztepe was critically wounded by a bullet fired by the terrorists.
She was taken to Şırnak State Hospital for emergency treatment, while security forces launched an operation to capture the terrorists who fled after the attack.
