Eleven Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorists were killed on Monday during operations in the Farashing/Beytüşşebap region in the southeastern province of Hakkari, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported.

According to the report, at least five terrorists were killed during the strike on PKK targets on İncebel Mountain. Six other militants were killed by a drone attack in a nearby region.

Two soldiers died and one was wounded in a roadside bomb attack perpetrated by PKK terrorists in Hakkari on Monday.

In a similar development one soldier was slain by PKK terrorists in the Çukurca district of Hakkari on Saturday, while six PKK militants were also killed in separate clashes there on Friday.

Turkish authorities had conducted direct talks with jailed PKK chief Abdullah Öcalan for several years until a truce in effect collapsed in the summer of 2015. Since then, there have been heavy clashes between the PKK and Turkish security forces.

More than 40,000 people, including 5,500 security force members, have been killed in four decades of fighting between the Turkish state and the PKK, which is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and the EU.
