PKK kills 3 soldiers in Hakkari

Three Turkish soldiers were killed on Saturday during clashes between the military and Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorists in Hakkari province.

According to Turkish media, four soldiers were also wounded in clashes in the Ağaçdibi district of Hakkari.

Five militants from the terrorist PKK were killed during a military operation in the Şemdinli district of Hakkari province on Friday.

In the meantime the Turkish military launched a large-scale operation on Saturday morning against PKK targets in Cudi and the Gabar mountains.

Seven village guards, two soldiers and one civilian were killed and three soldiers and two civilians wounded in a PKK attack in Doğubayazıt on Friday.

The PKK vowed to increase its attacks against Turkey after its Syria incursion. Kurdish militia the People’s Protection Units (YPG) is a Syrian offshoot of the PKK, which is fighting the Turkish state for an autonomous zone in Turkey’s Southeast.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by the US, the EU and Turkey.
