Must read

Two workers at a road construction site in a protected zone in Dağlıca, Hakkari province, were killed and two were injured in a terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) attack on Friday.

The rifle attack by PKK terrorists took place in the early morning hours at a construction site situated in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari, an area that has been suffering from terrorism for decades.

The PKK demands autonomy for Kurds in Turkey and is recognized as a terrorist organization by both the US and the European Union as well as Turkey.

The workers who were wounded in the attack were transported to Yüksekova State Hospital for treatment as a counterterrorism operation was launched by the Turkish military.

The clashes between the PKK and the state resumed after the peace negotiations were halted in the wake of the June 2015 elections in Turkey.
