Turkey’s confirmed cases of COVID-19, caused by the novel coronavirus, increased by 4,062 on Tuesday, reaching 65,111 in total, according to a chart posted on Twitter by Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.

The country added 107 fatalities to the coronavirus death toll, bringing the number to 1,403.

Eight hundred thirty-two people were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, the chart indicated.

As of Tuesday Turkey had the fourth highest number of daily increases of cases worldwide following the US, France and the UK.

However, Koca told a press conference that Turkey had gotten the viral outbreak under control.

Globally nearly 2 million people around the world have contracted the virus, and more than 117,000 have died since early January.
