Two Turkish engineers are among at least 207 deaths in a terrorist attack on Sri Lanka’s hotels and churches on Easter Sunday, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported.

In addition to the Turks, Dutch, Portuguese and Chinese nationals were among the dead, according to the Guardian.

Nearly 450 were wounded in explosions at three churches and three hotels.

Eight blasts have been reported across the country. In Colombo, St Anthony’s Shrine and the Cinnamon Grand, Shangri-La and Kingsbury hotels were targeted, BBC reported.

Blasts also took place in St Sebastian’s Church in Negombo, a town approximately 20 miles north of Colombo, and at Zion Church in Batticaloa on the east coast.

In a tweet Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said: “I condemn in the strongest terms possible the Easter terror attacks in #SriLanka. This is an assault on all of humanity.”

“On behalf of the Turkish people, I offer my condolences to the families of the victims and the people of #SriLanka, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” he added.
