80-year-old arrested over links to PKK after 24 days in detention

Hacı İsa Sezek, an 80-year-old Turk who spent 24 days in police custody in Siirt province, was arrested on Tuesday on charges of “membership in an armed organization” and links to terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

According to the Evrensel daily, Sezek had been denied food and water while in custody and has been suffering from serious health problems.

Along with Sezek, pro-Kurdish Democratic Regions Party (DBP) provincial head Agit Kaysi, and DBP members Bahri Tez and Osman Koçak were arrested on charges of “membership in an armed organization.” (Turkey Purge)
