Italian coach Vincenzo Italiano has been appointed head coach of Turkish football club Beşiktaş, the İstanbul-based team announced Saturday.
The 48-year-old signed a contract through the end of the 2027-2028 season, Beşiktaş said in a statement.
Italiano previously coached Serie A clubs Fiorentina and Bologna.
He becomes Beşiktaş’s 11th coach in five years, following managers including Valérien Ismaël, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Ole Gunnar Solskjær.
Beşiktaş, one of İstanbul’s three largest clubs, won the Turkish league title for the 16th time in 2021 but has since struggled to compete with rivals Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe.
