The Turkish-managed bulk carrier Beşiktaş-M collided with the US Navy aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman late on Wednesday near Port Said, Egypt, with no reported injuries or damage affecting the carrier’s operations, according to the US Sixth Fleet.

The Nimitz-class carrier was operating in the Mediterranean Sea when it was struck by the Panama-flagged vessel at approximately 11:46 p.m. local time, the Navy said. The collision did not cause flooding or impact the propulsion system of the Truman, and the ship remains in a safe and stable condition.

The Beşiktaş-M is owned by Black Hawk Shipping, a Marshall Islands-registered company, and managed by Synergy Ship Management, a Turkish firm, according to the ClassNK database. The bulk carrier, built in 2003, has a gross tonnage of 29,353 and a deadweight of 53,020 tons.

The US Navy and maritime authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
