ASELSAN integrates S-400 into Turkey’s national air defense system

Must read

Turkey’s state-run defense contractor ASELSAN has integrated the S-400 long-range air defense system developed by Russia into the HAKİM 100 Air Command and Control System it has developed domestically, highlighting a big stride forward in developing the nation’s air defense capabilities.

The S-400 is positioned in the same layer as the indigenous SİPER long-range air defense system in ground-based air defense.

The brochure for HAKİM 100 shows the system connecting radars and data links in use with NATO aircraft, ships, and air defense systems, including the S-400 long-range air defense system.

The integration is part of a multi-layered and unified defense network against various types of threats.

Developed entirely with domestic resources, HAKIM 100 integrates real-time data from multiple sensors into a comprehensive air picture, enhancing situational awareness for commanders. Compatible with NATO and international standards, the system supports low-, medium- and long-range defense platforms.

It also applies advanced algorithms for threat assessment and weapons allocation. ASELSAN says it plans to integrate artificial intelligence and machine learning in future versions to keep pace with evolving defense technologies.

By adding the S-400 to indigenous systems such as SIPER, Turkey underscores its strategy of balancing foreign and domestic technologies in its defense framework.
