The Amnah, a Comoros-flagged container ship, capsized early Monday at Turkey’s port of Ambarlı after listing due to an imbalance in its load distribution, according to the Turkish General Directorate of Shipping.

The incident occurred around 4 a.m. local time. Ten of the 15 crew members were evacuated by rescue teams, while the remaining five had to jump into the water. One crew member sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities deployed a floating barrier around the 101-meter-long vessel to mitigate pollution risks, and rescue operations are being coordinated by the port authority.
The ship, with a capacity of 508 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU), had recently changed names from FESCO Nagaevo and was operating under the Turkish shipping firm Sidra Line. Ship registry data from Equasis shows the 1996-built vessel changed ownership and flag in October, moving from Russian carrier FESCO to the Belize-registered Amnah Maritime.
