Turkey condemns Israel’s attack on Iran

Must read

Turkey on Saturday condemned Israel’s overnight attack on Iran “in the strongest terms.”

“Israel, which is committing genocide in Gaza, preparing to annex the West Bank and killing civilians every day in Lebanon, has now brought our region to the brink of a wider war with this attack,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.

“It is now clear that putting an end to Israeli terror in the region has become a historic task to ensure international security and peace.”

Ankara therefore called on the international community to take immediate action to enforce the law and stop the Israeli government, the ministry said.

At least two Iranian soldiers were killed on Saturday when the Israeli army attacked Iranian military facilities in response to Iran’s large-scale missile attack on Israel on October 1.

The White House said the Israeli attacks should end the direct exchange of fire between the two sides and warned Tehran of “consequences” if it responded.

Iranian military officials had previously warned that any attack from Israel would be met with a “harsher response.”
