Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met on Monday with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at his presidential palace in Ankara, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported.
The working visit is the second Aliyev has paid to Turkey since his re-election in February.
Erdoğan welcomed Aliyev, with whom he enjoys “brotherly” relations at Esenboğa Airport in Ankara. The two leaders then traveled to the presidential palace in Ankara’s Beştepe neighborhood where they held a closed-door meeting.
A statement from Erdoğan’s communications directorate said on X before the meeting that bilateral relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan in addition to the steps that can be taken to further deepen cooperation would be discussed during the meeting.
The leaders would also exchange ideas on current, regional and global issues.
Aliyev visited Ankara in February for a two-day official visit at the invitation of Erdoğan.
