Turkish prosecutors have issued detention warrants for dozens of people including two journalists as part of an investigation conducted by the İstanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office into the outlawed Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party/Front (DHKP/C), a militant Marxist group, the Mezopotamya news agency reported.
Police raids were carried out on numerous locations across five cities including İstanbul, Ankara, Hatay, İzmir and Erzurum on Wednesday to detain the suspects.
Mezopotamya said dozens of people including journalists Emre Orman and Ahmet Bay have been detained on accusations of links to the DHKP/C.
The state-run Anadolu news agency reported that 16 people have been detained so far as part of the investigation and that the detentions took place based on witness testimonies.
