Turkey announced 933 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, bringing the total number to 216,873, while 21 more people have died of the disease, according to a chart posted on Twitter by Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.
According to the chart, the death toll has reached 5,440 with the latest additions.
For three days in a row the number of the daily coronavirus cases has remained below 1,000, the ministry data indicated.
There are 1,213 patients in intensive care, of whom 394 are on ventilators, an increase of seven in the number of intensive care patients from yesterday.
The chart indicated that 1,087 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours.
Turkey conducted 42,411 tests for the coronavirus over the past day, bringing the overall number of tests carried out so far to 4,149,909.
The chart showed that 198,820 people have recovered in Turkey since the start of the outbreak.
Turkey reported its first COVID-19 case on March 11. The country eased preventative measures at the start of June, opening shopping malls, cafes, restaurants and mosques.
