Thirty-one percent of the deaths occurred in agricultural workplaces, followed construction at 23 percent and transportation with 15 percent.

While eight of the deceased were migrants living in Turkey – six Afghans, one Syrian and one Turkmen – another eight were underage workers, the report indicated.

Most recently seven workers were killed in an explosion at a fireworks company in Sakarya province.

The owners of the company, a father and son, were later detained by police. The son was arrested by a court on charges of negligence along with four factory employees.
