26 more die of COVID-19 in Turkey, number of cases reaches 163,103

Turkey’s confirmed cases of COVID-19 increased by 983 in a single day, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 163,103, while 26 more people have died of the disease over the past 24 hours, according to a chart posted on Twitter by Health Minister Fahrettin Koca on Saturday.

The COVID-19 death toll reached 4,515, the minister tweeted.

A total of 1,021 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, the chart indicated.

Turkey conducted 39,230 tests for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall number of tests carried out so far to 2,003,594.

The chart showed that 126,984 people have recovered in Turkey since the start of the outbreak, while 649 patients are in intensive care, 308 of whom are on respirators.

Turkey reported its first COVID-19 case on March 11.
