Turkey’s confirmed cases of COVID-19 increased by 1,035 in a single day, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 159,797, according to a chart posted on Twitter by Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.
In the past 24 hours 34 more people have died, taking the death toll to 4,431, the minister tweeted.
A total of 1,286 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, the chart indicated.
Turkey conducted 21,043 tests for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall number of tests carried out so far to 1,894,650.
The chart showed that 122,793 people have recovered in Turkey since the start of the outbreak, while 723 patients are in intensive care, 331 of whom are on respirators.
Turkey reported its first COVID-19 case on March 11.
