The number of foreign visitors arriving in Turkey plummeted by 99.26 percent year-on-year in April to 24,238, data from the Tourism Ministry showed on Friday, as the coronavirus outbreak in the country shut down airports and tourism.
In the first four months of the year, the number of foreign visitors fell 51.2 percent to 4.26 million, the data showed.
The Tourism Ministry has engaged with at least 70 countries to reassure them about coronavirus-free travel opportunities inside Turkey.
