Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim has been discharged from the İstanbul hospital where he has been receiving treatment for COVID-19, the Diken news website reported on Monday.
The development was announced by the Liv Hospital Group on Twitter.
“Even though he still tests positive, considering the improvement in clinical findings, it was deemed appropriate that he continue the rest of his treatment at home and come back to our hospital in case it becomes necessary,” the hospital’s statement read.
The 66-year-old coach reportedly will self-isolate at home for 14 days.
On March 23, he had announced his diagnosis of COVID-19, caused by the novel coronavirus.
The Turkish Football Federation was harshly criticized for its delay in suspending league matches after the global pandemic emerged, with Terim one of the most prominent critics.
