The number of coronavirus cases in Turkey has reached 359, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca tweeted late on Thursday, adding that another citizen had died, bringing the number of deaths to four.

“Out of the 1,981 tests [for detecting coronavirus] performed in the last 24 hours, 168 came out positive. The number of patients, which was previously 191, has now reached 359. We also lost an 85-year-old woman,” Koca wrote.

Earlier today, a hospital confirmed that former Turkish Land Forces Commander Aytaç Yalman’s death on Tuesday was related to COVID-19, caused by the novel coronavirus.

First seen in the Chinese city of Wuhan, COVID-19 has spread rapidly around the world, infecting nearly 250,000 people worldwide and killing more than 10,000.
