Turkey to open ‘emergency courts’ at airports for resolution of urgent travel issues

Must read

Turkey’s Justice Ministry is working on establishing “emergency courts,” at airports where judges and prosecutors would be present to offer quick solutions to urgent matters, according to the Hürriyet Daily News.

The courts will first be installed at İstanbul Airport and then will be expanded to other airports, according to Justice Minister Abdülhamit Gül.

The courts will concern themselves with solving urgent situations at airports such as people with outstanding arrest warrants or those who have been banned from leaving the country.

With this system people will not have to postpone their travel and will have the chance to resolve their legal issues at airports. If they are successful, they will be able to travel that day without having to report to courts in city centers.
