Germans view Turkey as 4th biggest threat to global security after Iran, US, N. Korea

A recent survey has revealed that 51 percent of Germans consider Turkey a menace to global peace, putting the country in fourth place, Deutsche Welle Turkish service reported on Wednesday.

In the results, Turkey followed Iran with 66 percent, the US with 61 percent and North Korea with 55 percent.

Russia ranked below Turkey, with 36 percent of Germans viewing it as a threat to international security.

In a similar survey in February 2019, those who perceived Turkey as a menace were at 42 percent.

Participants were also asked to rate crises based on perceived threat to Germany.

The migration crisis between the EU and Turkey were categorized as a threat by 46 percent, while 24 percent pointed to the conflict at the Turkish-Syrian border.
