Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is seen by 75 percent of Germans as a threat to global security and stability, according to a poll conducted by INSA for the German Bild newspaper.
US President Donald Trump beats Erdoğan with 80 percent of the survey’s respondents seeing him as a threat to global security and stability. Erdoğan is followed by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un with 73 percent and by Russian President Vladimir Putin with 63 percent.
Erdoğan is widely criticized by many in and outside Turkey for the establishment one-man rule in the country, destroying the separation of powers, silencing dissent and orchestrating grave human rights violations.
Respondents were also asked their views about the biggest threats to global security and stability. The respondents were able to choose three options, and a majority of the respondents, 42 percent, cited climate change as the biggest threat. It was followed by radical Islamist terrorism with 38 percent and then by migration movements with 33 percent.
