Must read

A 39-year-old Turkish man who was sought by a prosecutor on allegations of membership in the faith-based Gülen movement was reported to police by his relatives when he went to his hometown for a family visit during the Eid al-Adha religious holiday.

Identified only by the initials M.A. in Turkish media reports, the man was later arrested by a court on charges of Gülen links.

Turkey accuses the movement of orchestrating a 2016 coup attempt, although it strongly denies any involvement.

Since the coup attempt, over half a million people have been the subject of investigations over alleged Gülen membership.

More than 30,000 people are currently in Turkish prisons due to Gülen links, including hundreds of mothers with their children.
