The US Embassy in Ankara on Wednesday announced the delivery of four military helicopters to Turkey.
“Today, Turkish Land Forces took delivery of four more US Boeing CH-47F Chinook helicopters at the port of İzmir,” the embassy tweeted, sharing a video of one of the helicopters taking off.
“Turkey now has eleven of the newest and most advanced heavy lift rotary wing aircraft available.”
The two countries have been at odds over Turkey’s purchase of a Russian-made S-400 missile defense system, which led the US to remove Turkey from a joint program for the new generation F-35 stealth jets.
