Turkey’s opposition candidate for İstanbul mayoral office is leading the polls with more than 8 percent, according to a prominent Turkish polling company.
Conducted on 3,498 İstanbulites on June 15 and 16, the latest survey from Konda indicates Ekrem İmamoğlu is expected to garner 49 percent, while ruling party’s Binali Yıldırım will win 40.9 percent.
The study also says that 9.4 percent of the voters are indecisive or they did not vote in previous local elections.
Turkey’s Supreme Election Board (YSK) canceled the March 31’s İstanbul election results in which İmamoğlu won by a razor-thin margin.
