Turkish businesswoman Necla Zarakol and her lawyer were detained as part of an investigation into the faith-based Gülen movement, the Sözcü daily reported on Monday.
The police raided Zarakol’s house on Friday, and she has been under detention since then, the report said.
Zarakol and lawyer Tolga Danışman were accused of aiding Zahide Üner, who was apprehended by the police last week as she was fleeing Turkey with a fake identity card.
Üner is the former CFO of the BoraJet airline company.
The police operation exposed phone calls between lawyer Danışman and Gülen-linked suspects living in the US, Turkish media reports indicated.
Zarakol, a former journalist, is the board chairperson of Zarakol Communication Services, which issued a statement on Monday stressing that the detention must have been a mistake.
