A Turkish court has banned access to five websites owned by İskender Evrenesoğlu, who has declared himself a prophet, the Sputnik news website reported.

The court in the capital city of Ankara made its ruling based on a complaint from Turkey’s Directorate of Religious Affairs.

Evrenesoğlu’s websites, which broadcast of translations of the Islamic holy book, the Quran, have been found to be inappropriate in an investigation conducted by the Higher Council of the Directorate of Religious Affairs.

The council filed a criminal complaint against Evrenesoğlu at the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, seeking a ban on his websites.

Evrenesoğlu claims to have written his book, titled “Risalet Nurları” (The Lights of Prophecy,” under the guidance of God, who he claims sent him the text as verses.
