A worker in a local municipality in Istanbul won a case against the city that fired him for being gay, with the court reinstating him to his position.
In April 2018, R.S., a truck driver for the Kağıthane Municipality, was fired along with two other workers without compensation for alleged “homesexual relationships.”
The İstanbul 34th Labor Court on Wednesday reinstated R.S. to his job, the Hürriyet daily reported. The municipality had cited behavior against morality as a justification for terminating the employees.
