Turkish provincial police chief shot dead by young policeman

The Rize provincial chief of police was shot dead in his office on Tuesday by a policeman who had issues with his assignment, Turkish media reported.

A young policeman who was working in the traffic section entered the police department in Rize to speak with Police Chief Aytuğ Verdi around 3 p.m. local time and during the meeting started firing his weapon, killing Verdi and wounding two other officers.
