Politician urges Turks to call public radio to hear pro-government song on central line

Muharrem İnce, who ran against President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the presidential election on June 24, urged citizens on Thursday to dial the operator for İstanbul Public Radio to hear Erdoğan’s campaign song aired by a public broadcaster that is funded by taxpayers’ money.

Posting the operator’s number on his Twitter account, İnce asked Turks to call TRT Radio to prove that TRT functions as the mouthpiece of the one-man rule in the country.

When people called the number, they heard Erdoğan’s election campaign song “Dombra” playing. Due to the high volume of calls and complaints, the music played while waiting for the operator was changed.

İnce also pointed out that TRT did not broadcast any of his major rallies during the election campaign.
