Necati Şentürk, the governor of Turkey’s Kırşehir province, who was appointed by the Justice and Development Party (AKP) government led by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has vowed to occupy the Iraqi province of Mosul as well as Jerusalem.

According to a report by online news outlet TR724 on Wednesday, Governor Şentürk gave a speech from the balcony of the governor’s office to students who were planning to visit Gallipoli on the occasion of March 18, Çanakkale Victory Day. Şentürk stated that “we will enter Mosul, too. We will enter Jerusalem, too. God bless this nation.”

On March 18 about 1,000 students from Kırşehir traveled to Çanakkale province in 20 buses to attend in a traditional ceremony to commemorate soldiers who fell during the Gallipoli War in 1915. At the farewell ceremony held in front of the Kırşehir Governor’s Office, Şentürk delivered his speech to the students, waving a sword in his hand and shouting “Takbir” (God is great).
