Israeli police have detained six Turkish nationals while visiting the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported on Friday.
According to the report, witnesses said six Turks were detained by İsraeli police as they were leaving the Al Aqsa Mosque following the Friday prayer. The Turks were taken to the David Police Station in the old city.
Israeli police have confirmed the detentions, and the Turkish Consulate in Jerusalem is following the case closely, Anadolu reported.
Three Turkish citizens who were arrested by Jerusalem police at the Al Aqsa Mosque on Dec. 22 were released on bail by an Israeli court on Dec. 24.
