ISIL suspect kills policeman at İstanbul police headquarters

An Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) suspect who was detained on suspicion of being a suicide bomber stabbed a police officer to death before being killed at Istanbul police headquarters on Sunday, Haberturk reported.

According to the report, the suspect attacked policeman Sinan Acar with a knife when he was taken from a car to the detention center at police headquarters in the Vatan neighborhood of İstanbul. Other police officers shot the suspect to death during the attack.

The suspect was detained following intelligence that he was making preparations for a suicide attack.
