Main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) Tunceli deputy Gürsel Erol said on Thursday that his party would hold a march on Friday in remembrance of Necmettin Yılmaz, a teacher who was found dead on July 12 after being abducted by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in June.
Speaking to reporters at a hotel in Tunceli, Erol said a march would be held on Friday at 6 p.m. in remembrance of Yılmaz, who was found dead near Tunceli’s Pülümür Creek on July 12.
Yılmaz was abducted by PKK terrorists on June 16 while driving his car from Şanlıurfa, where he worked as a teacher, to his hometown of Gümüşhane via Tunceli.
Erol said people would walk from the city center to the location where Yılmaz’s body was found and would leave flowers at Pülümür Creek.
