Journalist Yıldız detained with 1-year-old baby in İstanbul

Journalist Nevin Yıldız, the responsible manager of the now-closed-down TV10 TV station, was detained at İstanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport on Tuesday night with her 1-year-old baby upon her return from Germany.

It was not immediately known on what charges Yıldız was detained. She had been taken into custody twice before and released.

Yıldız was expected to be referred to the Bakırköy Courthouse on Wednesday.

TV10, a pro-Alevi TV station, was among 12 TV stations closed down by a government decree in September.

The Turkish government shut down dozens of media outlets and jailed scores of journalists in the aftermath of a failed coup attempt on July 15 under the pretext of anti-coup fight.
