Police detain 2 journalists in eastern Turkey

Nismiye Güler and Zeynep Turgut, two reporters for the Diyarbakir-based multilingual online news website Gazete Sujin, were detained on Thursday.

The two reporters were on their way to cover an event in Van’s Tatvan district when the police apprehended them.

Gazete Sujin said it has yet to locate the police station at which the two are being held.
Turkey has arrested 231 journalists since a July 15 coup attempt. (Turkey Purge)
