Turkey’s annual unemployment rate rises to 10.9 percent

Turkey’s unemployment rate in 2016 rose by 0.6 percent over the previous year, reaching 10.9 percent.

According to data released on March 15 by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TurkStat), the national unemployment rate hit its highest in almost seven years in the November-January period, rising to 12.7 percent from 10.8 percent a year earlier.
