The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) announced in a statement on Friday that two soldiers were killed and three others were wounded in Syria’s al-Bab region when a homemade explosive planted by Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorists exploded.

As part of Operation Euphrates Shield, Turkey sent tanks across the border to help Syrian rebels drive ISIL from the border city of Jarabulus in late August, in a dramatic escalation of its involvement in the Syrian civil war.

The number of Turkish soldiers killed during Operation Euphrates Shield has reached 76 with the latest loss.
